F. B. Rudolph first came to
Coleman in 1934, after attending the
University of Texas, 1923 through
1932. He spent a few years in
Vernon, Longview, and Tyler; coming back
to Coleman in 1939 to buy the Magnolia
agency (later to become Mobil). In
1945, Rudolph bought the service station
at the corner of Commercial and Walnut,
later to completely remodel the
station, In 1950, F. B., "Fred",
purchased the station at the corner of
Walnut and Neches; in the same year he
built a Magnolia station on Neches Street
north of the underpass, and in June of
1958, he purchased the Magnolia station in
Santa Anna, as well as locations for
future service stations. F. B. had
the contract to furnish the petroleum for
the Hords Creek Lake construction.
In 1979, F.B.'s
son, Baker, moved to Coleman to join the
family business, and carry out the
tradition of fine service to the
community.
