During the early 1900's there were two banks in Santa Anna.  The First State Bank that closed in the early 1930's and the First National Bank of Santa Anna, which was chartered February 26, 1906.  The First National Bank of Santa Anna closed during President Roosevelt's "Bank Holiday" in 1933.  After being closed for a short period of time, the bank was reorganized and rechartered on December 1, 1933 as the Santa Anna National Bank.  The officers of the bank at that time were: President, W. R. Kelley; Vice-President and Cashier, M. A. Edwards: Assistant Cashiers, D. L. Pieratt and O. L. Cheaney.  The Santa Anna National Bank has prospered over the years under the faithful and dedicated service of a number of directors: W. K. Kelley, Clinton Lowe, Ben W. Yarborough, W. E. Wallace, Mrs. Burgess Weaver, V. L. Grady, J. L. Boggus, Ted Stewardson, C. H. Wise, Robert Markland, A. D. Pettit, Jr., Neil Oakes, A. G. Weaver, Pat Hosch, Glen Copeland, Rob Cheaney, O. L. Cheaney was a long time employee and manager of the bank.  He started working in the First National Bank of Santa Anna and continued working in the Santa Anna National Bank.  He worked in all phases of banking for 57 years until his death.  He was president of the bank for a number of years.

Through all these years, the Santa Anna National Bank has served the people of Santa Anna and Coleman County with a full line of services.  The bank today still is home owned and operated and continues to be a member of the FDIC and the Federal Reserve System.
