The business was started in
1946 by Mr. W. A. Stempel and Mr. Bill
Clayton as a partnership. Later, Mr.
Ed McBee entered the partnership. In
1949, both Mr. Clayton and Mr. McBee were
bought out by W. A. Stempel and W. C.
Stempel entered the company. The
company was incorporated in 1955 under the
laws of the State of Texas.
In April of 1967,
Mr. W. A. Stempel, the Founder and
President, passed away at the age of
79. In the reorganization, the
present officers were selected and have
served in this capacity to date. The
company was operated in Dallas, Texas from
1946 to 1970. Considerable
difficulty was encountered with the labor
force available and plant
obsolescence. It was decided to seck
a new home in a rural community.
Coleman was selected for many
reasons. All indications are that
the company is happy here. Stempel
