      The business was started in 1946 by Mr. W. A. Stempel and Mr. Bill Clayton as a partnership.  Later, Mr. Ed McBee entered the partnership.  In 1949, both Mr. Clayton and Mr. McBee were bought out by W. A. Stempel and W. C. Stempel entered the company.  The company was incorporated in 1955 under the laws of the State of Texas.

     In April of 1967, Mr. W. A. Stempel, the Founder and President, passed away at the age of 79.  In the reorganization, the present officers were selected and have served in this capacity to date.  The company was operated in Dallas, Texas from 1946 to 1970.  Considerable difficulty was encountered with the labor force available and plant obsolescence.  It was decided to seck a new home in a rural community.  Coleman was selected for many reasons.  All indications are that the company is happy here.  Stempel Manufacturing Company produces the following products:

Stempel Manufacturing Company is the largest supplier of chalk, bulletin, and marker boards to the office products industry.

     Our philosophy is one of commitment to product quality, service, delivery and the concept "partnership marketing."

     Concerning our company, the following facts may be of interest.

• We have thirty-seven years experience in serving the office products industry.
• We are the only manufacturer serving the industry operating its own rough mill, enabling us to process lumber directly out of the kiln into the finished product.
• We own and operate a fleet of twelve trailers and nine tractors for quick, damage-free delivery.
• Our industrial complex occupies seven acres with over 68,000 square feet of manufacturing and distribution space.
• Our sales organization is made up of the finest manufacturer's reps in the industry.
• Our total employees number 115.

     Some of our recent changes and additions include:

• A 15,500 square feet addition to fαcilities for Chalkboard manufacturing.
• Inhouse computer for automated order entry, truck scheduling and other vital functions.
• Other Capital expenditures in manufacturing equipment:
• Aluminum Frame Equipment to double our capacity.
• Shrink Packing Capability
