In the photo of the "old folks" club taken in Italy in 1930. My gg-grandmother is seated in the front row, 2nd to the left of the tree, wearing the dark dress. Her name is Ann Colville Edmondson Young. She was born 2 June 1852, probably in McMinnville, TN. She migrated to Ellis County with her father and siblings around 1869 after the civil war devastated their land in TN. She married Robert H. Young in 1872. She had an only child, Medora Elmore Young. Ann died in 1931. Ann, Robert and Medora are buried at Myrtle Cemetery. Ann's image was identified in this photo by my father who knew her. He was 11 years old when she died. He says she was a tiny woman, under 5 ft. tall. |
