Funeral services for Mrs. Alton Dodd, 68 of 401 Dull Averiette were
held at 3 p.m. Friday at the Central Baptist Church with the Rev.
Grover C. Bishop and Dr. Ralph Phelps officiating. Burial was in
Athens City Cemetery under the direction of Carroll & Lehr Funeral
Home. She was a native and lifelong resident of Henderson County
and attended Summer Hill Schools. She was the former Hazel Pool and
was married to Alton Dodd Dec. 25, 1930 in Athens. She was a member
of the Central Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband the Rev. Alton Dodd of Athens, five
brothers Ennis Pool of Rialto, Calif, Marlin "Buck" Pool of Trinidad,
Colo, Raymond Pool Of Murfeesboro, Tenn, and L. L. "Doc" Pool of
Athens, three sisters Mrs. Mabel Wallace of Arlington, Mrs. Effie
Gandy of Lufkin and Mrs. Novice Sifford of Athens and a number of
nieces and Nephews.
