Obituaries Eula Pearl Davis Services for Eula Pearl Davis, 73, of Athens were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 13, 2004 at First Baptist Church of Athens with Kyle Henderson officiating. Interment followed in Athens Cemetery. She was born April 10, 1930 in Mabank to the late Luther James and Ethel Edgar and died Friday, April 9, 2004 in Denton. She was a dance teacher at Dance Studio. In her life she was part of Joy Choir, Athens Little Theater, The Community Band, Cardette Seniors, Drum Major for Athens High School, Drum Major for Henderson County Junior College, played the piano for W. Athens Baptist Church and for the First Baptist Church of Athens. Preceding her in death were three brothers, Joe James, Charlie Thorton and Edgar James, and one sister, Jane Greene. Survivors include daughter Renee McLaughlin of Sanger, Texas; brother, Bernard James of Hot Springs, Ark., and a grandchild, Lace McLaughlin of Sanger, Texas. Pallbearers were Billy Bernard James, Brad Miers, Bryan Miers, Sonny Miers, Eddie Miers, and Dewayne Greene. Honorary pallbearers were Dave Vance, Kyle Miers, Chad Greene, Rowdy Miers, Ricky James and James Miers. Visitation was from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Monday, April 12 at Tomlinson Funeral Home of Malakoff.
