Cross Roads Woman Dies Wednesday At Sister's Home Here


Mrs. Mable Barton, 30, of the Cross Roads community, died here at 9:00 o'clock Wednesday morning at the home of her sister, Mrs. Harris Ballow. She had been suffering with leakage of the heart for the past eighteen months with her condition becoming more critical in recent weeks. She had been brought to the sister's home here Tuesday morning in order that medical attention might be more easily obtained.

Funeral services were held at the Cross Roads Methodist Church at 11 a. m. Thursday with burial following in the Judson Cemetery. The Ballard Funeral Home here had charge of the burial service.

The deceased is survived by her husband, A. B. Barton; her parents Mr. and Mrs. Sam Shelton of the Cross Roads community and two sisters, Mrs. Harris Ballow, Malakoff; and Mrs. Kermit Cannon of Bryan, Texas. Her mother, Mrs. Shelton has also been critically ill at a Corsicana hospital where she is now convalescing from a major operation, which she underwent a few days ago.
