Claude Brownlow Passes Away After Lingering Illness
---------

Claude Brownlow, age 48, passed into the great beyond at
the family home here at 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon
following a lingering illness since in early January. Although
in failing health for practically seven months he had been
able to make his way about his home until some three weeks
ago when he took his bed from which he was never to arise.

For weeks before the end he suffered terribly, but tried
always to maintain a cheerful spirit, and was ever mindful
and appreciative of the efforts of his loved ones and friends
to make things comfortable for him in his last days.

Br. Brownlow was born in the Leagueville community on
December 26, 1884 and died in Malakoff on August 4, 1932
at the age of 48 years, 7 months and 8 days. On January 3,
1906 he was united in marriage to Miss Carrie Harrell at
Athens, Texas, and to this union four children were born, two
of which survive, and with his wife, were with him through his
trying days.

In the year 1912, Mr. and Mrs. Brownlow came to Malakoff
to make their home and they have lived here ever since. Mr.
Brownlow united with the Baptist Church in young manhood
and in later years he transferred his membership to the local
Baptist church.

Funeral services for the deceased were held from the family
home at 3:00 o'clock Friday afternoon conducted by Rev.
Wallace Clark, Baptist Pastor, assisted by Rev. E. L. Edgar,
Methodist pastor. Interment took place immediately
following in the Malakoff cemetery with J. A. Ballard, local
undertaker, in charge.

The deceased is survived by his wife and two sons,
Raymond and Clinton all of Malakoff, one sister, Mrs. Lula
Green of Athens; three half sisters and one half brother.
