Funeral Services for Alfred Pierce At Shelby Chapel

The funeral services for Alfred Pierce, who dropped dead
from a heart attack while working in the garden at his home
at Stephen's Lake, at 11 o'clock Monday morning, were held
at Shelby Chapel east of Athens at 11 o'clock Tuesday
morning.

Mr. Pierce, for a number of years, has been the care taker of
the Stephen's Club Lake and was a frequent visitor to this
city. He enjoyed a wide acquaintance here who will be
grieved to learn of his sudden demise.

The deceased is survived by his wife and two sons; Ed Roy -
and Dub, and one sister, Mrs. A. A. Burleson of Kerens.
