Carl Bass Dies At Chandler Thursday


Funeral services for Carl Bass of Chandler, were held Friday
afternoon in that community, it was learned here.

Bass died Thursday afternoon following a long illness with Bright's
Disease. He had lived in Chandler only a short time.

Mrs. T. J. Ponder, 61, Dies Friday Night At Home Near Murchison


Mrs. T. J. Ponder, 61, died at her home four miles northwest of
Murchison Fridaynight following a critical illness of several days
duration. Relatives were called to her bedside Friday.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock at
Shelby Chapel where interment followed.

The deceased is survived by her husband and a number of children.

Derwood Costelow Buried Wednesday


Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church at LaRue on Wednesday for
Derwood Costelow, 10 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Costelow, who died
at the family home in the Modoc community Tuesday night. The boy's death
was caused by; a fractured spine suffered in a fall from a wagon.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. D. R. Cartlidge, Baptist minister,
of Athens.

Aged Resident of Pauline Buried at Payne Springs


Mrs. Sarah Knight, 82, wife of George W. Knight, died at the family home in the
Pauline community Friday night, funeral services being held Sunday at Payne
Springs where interment followed.

The deceased had been a resident of Henderson county since 1913. She was a
native Texan.

Those surviving included her husband and three daughters, Eva Hunt, Pauline;
Mrs. Annie Barton, Salado, Texas, and Mrs. D. Lockhart, address unknown.

Death Claims Pioneer Citizen At Eustace


Eustace, Texas, Dec. 16.--Following a critical illness of several days, Mr. T. J. Ramsey,
82 year old pioneer Texas farmer, died at 9:15 Thursday evening, December 13th at his
home in Eustace.

Leaving Georga in 1852, he came to Texas, settling with his parents in Tarrant county,
where he lived until 1899. In 1899 he moved to Henderson county, settling at Eustace and has lived there for the past 34 years.

He had been married 57 years, having married Miss Armanda Johnson, November 5,
1877. He united with the Presbyterian church twenty-five years ago.

He is survived by his wife, and the following children: Mrs. J. E. Wise, Eustace; P. H.
Ramsey, Plainview; Mrs. J. C. Ernest, Dallas; J. E. Ramsey, Frisco, and Mrs. R. L.
Noble, Eustace.

Interment was made at Morehead cemetery of Eustace on Friday afternoon at 4:00
o'clock. Rev. Willie Williford, pastor, Eustace Methodist Church, were in charge of the
services.

Ballard and Ballard, undertakers of Eustace and Malakoff, were in charge of funeral
arrangements.
