Funeral services were held at the Hassell and Foster Chapel here Tuesday afternoon for C. W. Morgan, 75, of Athens, who died in a local hospital
Monday after a short illness.

The. Rev. T. L. Slimp, the Rev. Bruce Harper and the Rev. Marvin Lyman conducted the services and burial was in the Shelby Chapel Cemetery.

Morgan was born in Raleigh, N. C., and had lived in Henderson County since he was a small boy. He lived in the Bethel community before moving to
Athens about a year ago. He was a member of the Christian Church.

Survivors are his wife; four sons, Curtis Morgan of Wichita, Kan.; Lester Morgan of Angleton, Chester Morgan of Dallas and Robert C. Morgan
of Los Angeles, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Troy Daniels and Mrs. Wretha Matthes of Dallas; two brothers, George Morgan of Houston and John
Morgan of Cleburne; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Birchfield of Dawson and Mrs. Annie Graham of Fort Worth, and 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Death certificate shows Cornie William Morgan born April 22, 1880 in Raleigh, N. C. and died January 30, 1956 in Athens Texas.
Death certificate shows fathers name Jessie Morgan. Informant Mrs. Rilla Morgan.
