Funeral services for Gladys (Welch) Hanks, 72, of Houston will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Foster and Brown Funeral Home with
Rev. Lester Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in Beck's Chapel.Mrs. Hanks died Friday in a Houston hospital following a lengthy illness.
She was born Aug. 19, 1910 in Athens the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Paul Welch. She had resided in the Houston area for the past 35 years, was a former resident of Cross Roads and the widow of the late Floyd Hanks.
Survivors include two sons, Troy Hanks of Houston and Cliff Hanks of Athens; three daughters, Mrs. Janice Minter and Mrs. Dorothy Morse, both of Houston
and Mrs. Lou Etta McGee of Springfield; one brother, George Welch of Palestine; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Don Estes, Don Hodge, W. M. Crist, L. L. Crist, Fowler Rhoades and Roger Krugg.
