Mrs. Jim Tom Collins
Mrs. Collins, whose maiden name was M. E. Derden, was raised in
Anderson county. She was twenty-seven years old at the time of
her decease. She was married to Mr. Jim Tom Collins December
2nd 1896. She was a consistent member of the Methodist church.
She leaves her husband and two children, a little boy three years
past, and an infant son twelve days old. A little son died about a
year ago. The little boy left will have but a faint remembrance of
"Mama" and the little baby will never know how its mamma looked.
Death is always sad, but when it takes the mother from little ones it
is the saddest. She was buried at the city cemetery, Rev. L. M. Fowler
her pastor, conducting the funeral services.
