Funeral Services For Commissioner's Mother Held On Wednesday


Funeral services for Mrs. Laura Bacon, 70 wife of the late A. H.
Bacon and mother of Commissioner Boyd Bacon of this county were held
at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Frankston Baptist Church
with the pastor, Rev. Charles Boles officiating. Reverend Ritchie of
Troup assisted with the last rite.

Mrs. Bacon died in a Jacksonville hospital about 12:45 Tuesday
morning following an illness of several weeks. Mrs. Bacon moved to
Frankston from Bullard 42 years ago and has been active in civic and
church affairs.

Surviving are five sons, M. B. Bacon of New Boston, W. O. Bacon of
Frankston, W. B. Bacon of Mineola, Boyd Bacon of Poynor, and Guy
Dixon of Frankston; three daughters, Mrs. W. G. Colson and Mrs. R. S.
Bard of Frankston and Miss Hazel Bacon of Giddings; a brother, L. E.
Anderson of Mabank; and ten grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were by Gragard-Spraggins of Jacksonville.
