A Good Man Gone

Died at his home in Athens Sunday, April 21, 1901, at 12:45 a.m.,
L. N. Foster, tax collector of Henderson county. He had been in
bad health a long time.
Mr. Foster was born in Polk county in September, 1859. His mother
resided in Burleson county awhile. He came to Henderson county
in 1867. His father died before he was born. His older brother T. J.
Foster, of Barry, Texas raised him.
He was serving his third term as tax collector of this county. He was
very popular with the people, and everybody says Louis Foster was
a good and honest man. No higher encomium could be pronounced
upon him. He was buried at the Athens cemetery, Rev. L. M. Fowler
conducted the funeral services.
