Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Martin, 80, widow of the late J. K. Martin, extensive landowner and ranchman, will be held from the LaRue Methodist Church Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, with the Rev. M. L. Fuller, Athens minister in charge.
Mrs. Martin died at the home of her only daughter, Mrs. Joe A. Johnson of Brownsboro, at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.
She and her husband were among the first settlers in Fisher County, where he at one time had extensive ranching interests. She also was a former resident of Clarksville and Arlington.
She was born in Tennessee.
Survivors are one daughter Mrs. Joe A. Johnson, Brownsboro; three grandchildren, Mrs. Jim Bob Curtis of tyler, Miss Elizabeth Johnson of LaRue and James Martin Johnson, student at North Texas Teachers' College, Denton.
NOTE: Cemetery Records of Henderson County Vol 111 shows S. E. Martin is buried in the Morrison Chapel Cemetery.
Cemetery book also shows J. K. Martin b. Apr 19 1846 and d. Dec 5 1931.
Death certificate shows Mrs. Martin was born Dec 12 1855 in Tn. and died June 1936. Cemetery book gives death date as June 8 1936.
Death certificate shows father J. L. Read and mothers last name as Hearn. Informant for death certificate was Mrs. J. A. Johnson. (LGR)
