Mrs. Adair Dies At Murchison; Funeral Monday  

Mrs. Roxie Elizabeth Adair died suddenly Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock at her home in Murchison.    She was born on August 5, 1882, in Falls County the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Cranford, and moved  from there to Arkansas when she was one year of age.  She moved to Murchison when she was sixteen years of age, and had resided there since then.   She was married in 1898 to W. L. Adair of Brownsboro. Mr. Adair, teacher in the Murchison school for twenty-seven years and post-master at Murchison for five years, died on January 24, 1923, and was buried in the Leagueville Cemetery.  He was post-master when he died.   Mrs. Adair had been a member of the Baptist Church for thirty years.   Surviving are three sons, Willie Adair (my grandfather) of Athens; Henry Adair of Mabank; and Preston Adair of Murchison; two daughters, Mrs. H. L. Smith of Dallas and Mrs. D. W. Harris of Grapevine, and eleven grandchildren and seven great- grand children.   Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church in Murchison Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock with the Rev. J. W. Williford of Eustace officiating.  Burial was in the Leagueville Cemetery.   Grandsons served as pallbearers.   The Hassell and Foster Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.   Note: Roxie Elizabeth Cranford Adair would be my great grandmother.
