The following appear on microfilm of births registered in Austin, Texas. Births were not recorded in Austin until 1903 and, even then, it was not required. Consequently, a researcher might, with good luck, find a birth recorded in county records but not recorded with the state. Additionally, in these early records, a birth was often recorded as "Infant of" rather than listing a given name for the child.
