COLORADO CITY -- Mitchell Brookshire, 81, of Colorado City, died Monday in Lubbock. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 21 at Dorn Cemetery with James Williams and the Rev. Kiefer Cauble officiating. Kiker-Seale Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, April 20 at the funeral home.
He was born Jan. 20, 1924, to Hollis and Eula Brookshire in Colorado City. He had been a resident of Midland and was a self-employed machinist. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Ruby Ellis Nov. 22, 1942 in Paducah and was a member of Dorn Methodist Chapel.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Jackie Brookshire of Midland; a daughter, Tommie Williams of Colorado City; a brother, L.D. Brookshire of Brownsboro; a sister, Betty Lowery of Stephenville; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
