Willis Daniel Brookshire, 74, of Colorado City died December 29, 2000 in Colorado City. Graveside services were held Sunday, December 31, 2000 in the Oran Cemetery in Palo Pinto County, Texas with Rev. Lonnie DeArmond officiating. Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner was in charge of arrangements.
He married Billie Myrel McKee in 1947 at Quemado, Texas. He lived in this area in the late 60's and 70's and was an oilfield worker. He was a veteran of of the Navy and was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survifors include his wife, Billie Brookshire of Colorado City; sons, Ron Brookshire and wife Betty and Roy Brookshire, all of Midland; a daughter, Patsy Gilly and husband William of Midland; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; two brothers, L.D. Brookshire of Brownsboro, Texas and Mitchell Brookshire of Colorado City; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son Audie Brookshire; parents, Hollis Brookshire and Eula; sisters, Louise Brookshire and Egivea Brookshire.
