J. Vaughn Brown, 86, of Colorado City passed away, Sunday, April 17, 2011 at Midland Memorial Hospital. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, April 20,2011, at Kiker-Seale Chapel, with Rev. Jerry Moore officiating. Family visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at funeral home.
Vaughn was born November 19, 1924 in Scranton, Texas to parents Ernest and Maggie Mae Brown. Vaughn married Carroll Ann Derangton on November 11, 1949 in Portales, New Mexico. Vaughn was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He lived in Colorado City area most of his life. Vaughn loved fishing, long walks, reading the bible and spending time with family and friends. He worked for Rockwell lumber for 26 yrs as a assistant manager.
Survivors : wife: Carroll Ann Brown of Colorado City, Daughters: Donna Love and husband Joe of Midland, and Karen Brown of Midland. Brother: John Brown and wife Margaret of Colorado City, Sisters: Ona Mae Harris and husband Jim of Colorado City and Dorris Turner of Fort Worth. Grandchildren: Christopher Love and Step-Grandchildren Breanna Brown and Mike Kinnett.
Vaughn was preceded in death by: Son: Jerry Brown ,parents, sisters: Ernestine Moore, Jerlene Felts, brothers: Glen Brown, Roy Lee Brown, and Bill Brown.
All arrangements are under the care and direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home..
