Mrs. Bonnie Calaway

Mrs. Bonnie Calaway, age 71, of Amarillo and formerly of Colorado City, Died Tuesday, February 17, 2009, in an Amarillo hospital. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 28, 2009 in All Saint's Episcopal Church in Colorado City with Rev. Dennis Bosley officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Mrs. Calaway was born August 30, 1937 in Lampasas to Louis and Edna Mason Karnes. She married Charles "Chuck" Calaway in 1958 in Colorado City. He preceded her in death on January 11, 1994. She was a lab technician at Holly Sugar for ten years in Hereford.
She is survived by a son, Randel and wife Glenna Calaway of Flower Mound; two daughters, Cody and husband Brain Simpkins of Amarillo and Carla and husband Reed Powell of Snyder; a brother, Jim and wife Grace Karnes of Waco; a sister, Nelda Karnes of Gatesville; grandsons, Michael Calaway, Colton Powell and Matthew Simpkins; and three granddaughters, Heather Calaway, Riley Powell and Emily Simpkins.
She is preceded in death by two sisters, Corene Thomas and Letha Soules and five brothers, Oscar Karnes, Ellsworth Karnes, Louis Karnes, Carl Karnes and Frank Karnes.
