COLORADO CITY (RNS) ~~
Tom B. Coker, 79, of Colorado City, died at 9 p.m. Thursday in Root Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church.
The Rev. Bob Ford, pastor will officiate, assisted by the Rev. William Fleming, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Big Spring. Burial will be in the Colorado City Cemetery directed by Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Born July 20, 1896 in Glenwood, Arkansas he came to Mitchell County in 1901. He married Juanita Hart December 29, 1933 in Colorado City. Mr. Coker was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Masonic Lodge.
He was graduated from Hermleigh High School and attended Cisco Junior College which was Britton Training School at the time.
He worked for Magnolia Petroleum Company for a number of years, spent several years as a traveling salesman, and eight years as a building contractor. Mr. Coker operated Coker's Resturant for nine years in Colorado City before he retired in 1962.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Adran Welch of Big Spring; a son, Joe Mack of Dallas; two sisters, Flora Hull and Mrs. B. M. Hamil Sr., both of Fort Worth; and three grandchildren.
