Ina Bess Lee Compton

Funeral service for Mrs. Ina Bess Compton, 41, was conducted Thursday afternoon at 2:30 P.M. at the Fifth and Elm Street Church of Christ. Mrs. Compton died Tuesday about 7 P.M. in her home at 604 E. 17th. St. following a long illness.

Floyd J. Spivey, Church of Christ minister, officiated in final rites. Burial was in the Colorado City Cemetery under the direction of Kiker and Son Funeral Home.

Mrs. Compton was born August 31, 1915 in Loraine, Ina Bess Lee, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Lee, and was married to L. W. " Buddy" Compton September 19, 1936, in Sweetwater, Texas.

She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband and four children, Mary Beth, Marsha Ellen, Clinton Edward, and Stephen Ray Compton all of Colorado City; four sisters, Gertha Davidson of Odessa, Lynette Slaughter and Ruth Turnbow of Eagle Pass, Texas, and Modelle Brookshire of Midland; four brothers, Olan Lee of Loraine, Aldin Lee of Roswell, New Mexico, Raymond Lee of Westbrook and Elvis Lee of Houston.

Pallbearers were Jess Davidson of Odessa, Terry Turnbow and Clyde Slaughter of Eagle Pass, L. D. Brookshire of Midland, Harvey Compton and R. C. Compton of Colorado City.
