COLORADO CITY ~~ Mr. Jack Edwards, age 80, of Brady and a former longtime Colorado City resident, died Sunday in a San Angelo hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. in the Kiker-Seale Chapel with the Rev. Jackie Brem officiating. Burial will be in the Colorado City Cemetery, under the direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Mr. Edwards was born November 13, 1926, in Dickens County to Walter and Zela Hawley Edwards. He was married to Betty Jo Love. She preceded him in death in 1995. He drove an asphalt truck for J.H. Strain & Sons Construction for 50 years and was a member of the Oak Street Baptist Church.
He is survived by three sons, Steve and wife, Velinda Edwards of Colorado City, Wayland and wife, Glenda Edwards of Mexia, Sonny and wife, Mary Edwards of Red Oak; two daughters, Sue and husband, Neal Hawley of Colorado City and Misty and husband Jerry Johnson of Manatoba, Canada; two brothers, Harold Edwards of Rayford, North Carolina and Harold Wayne Ramsey of Hollywood, California; two sisters, Naoma Dale Jackson of Amarillo and Joyce Pearson of Crosbyton; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
