John Lemuel Ellis

COLORADO CITY ~~ Funeral services will be held in Kiker & Son Chapel here at 10:30 a.m. Saturday for John Lemuel Ellis, 83.

Officiating will be the Rev. Jack Elzey, pastor of the First Methodist Church. Burial will be in Colorado City Cemetery.

Mr. Ellis, a retired real estate dealer, died in Root Memorial Hospital here Thursday afternoon after a long illness.

Born July 12, 1867 he was married in Alabama to Rachel Angie Miller. She died in 1940.

Mr. Ellis had been a resident here for 59 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Melvin Ellis of Westbrook, Bolden Ellis of Fort Worth, and Van Ellis of Pecos; four daughters, Mrs. Frank Smith, Mrs. A. R. Wood and Mrs. A. F. Callan of Colorado City and Mrs. A. M. Seale of Arrey, New Mexico; one sister, Mrs. Leona Henson of Pecos; 23 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren.
