LORAINE – Services for D.C. Fowler, age 86, will be held Friday, February 25, 2011, at the First United Methodist Church in Loraine at 2 p.m. Burial will follow on the Wallace Ranch. Arrangements are under the direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.

D.C. Fowler was born to Dennis C. Fowler and Mary Wallace Fowler May 10, 1924, in Tyler. He came to live with his grandparents Daniel Webster and Laura Wallace around age five. He spent the next 11 or 12 years on the ranch and in Colorado City. He returned to Tyler to complete his senior year in high school. After two years of college at Prairie View A&M, he was drafted into the US Navy where he served from December 9, 1943 until January 14, 1946, receiving an honorable discharge.

Mr. Fowler returned to the Wallace Ranch where he worked many years, and he also worked for the water departments of Roscoe and Loraine. He was a special featured rider in the 100-year centennial parade, representing his famous grandfather and noted cowboy and cattleman "80 John" Wallace.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, "80 John" and Laura D. Wallace; his parents, Dennis Cleon and Mary Wallace Fowler; two sisters, Vonceil Fowler Muse and Elaine Fowler McMichael; two aunts, Hettye Wallace Branch and Eula Wallace Folwer Harris and J.P. Fowler.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Fowler; daughter, Daphne Fowler; grandchildren, Donnica and Donndric Fowler-Jones; and nephews, Alfred Keir and Kai McMichael.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Feb. 24 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Kiker Seale Funeral Home.
