James H. Guitar Sr. and Jr. Die in Plainview Wreck


COLORADO, AUG. 1 ~~ Funerals for James H. Guitar Sr., 60, and his son, James H. Guitar, Jr., 24 who were killed as a result of an automobile-truck collision Saturday on highway 8, nine miles south of Plainview were held here this afternoon.
The son was killed instantly in the collision. His father died early this morning in a Plainview hospital. Both were prominent citizens of Colorado.
James H. Guitar, Jr. was a June law graduate of the University of Texas and this summer had been practicing law in the office of Harry Ratliff here. He was graduate of Colorado High School and of Kemper military academy at Booneville, Missouri.
James H. Guitar, Sr., was manager of the Guitar compress, an oil mill and the Guitar gins of Colorado.
Members of the family surviving are Mrs. Guitar, Don Guitar of Colorado, Hunt Guitar of New Orleans, Louisiana, and Sara Guitar of Colorado.
The father has two surviving brothers and three sisters. They are Fred Guitar of Merkel and Will Guitar of Abilene, and Mary Guitar, Mrs. Virginia Crispin and Mrs. Adele Guitar Lockett all of Abilene.
