John Morgan

 

Mr. John Morgan, age 87, formerly of Colorado City, died Saturday, February 18, 2012, in a Snyder hospital. Services will be at 10 AM Tuesday in the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Jerry Moore and Chap. Alan McGuire officiating. Burial will follow in the Colorado City Cemetery under the direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Mr. Morgan was born November 24, 1924 in Parks Camp, TX to John A and Mildred White Morgan and had been a lifelong resident of Colorado City. He married Helen Miles on April 24, 1948 in Kermit, TX. He was a patrolman of Texas Electric Co for 38 years, a member of the Masonic Lodge, a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite, York Rite, Suez Shrine, Eastern Star and a Colorado City Volunteer Fireman for 25 years . He was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church and a US Navy veteran of WWII.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Morgan of Snyder, 2 daughters: Linda and husband, Darrell Mize of Snyder and Janie and husband, James McVean of Snyder, grandchildren: Rusty Mize, Jeff McVean, Kristi Mize, Jay McVean and Jason McVean: 6 great grandsons and 3 great granddaughters.
He is preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters, Thelma Manoley and Melba Mikle.
The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Monday at the funeral home.
