Obituary For: Louis M. Rivera
Louis M. Rivera, age 81, went to be with our Lord on August 12, 2013. He passed away peacefully at his home in Colorado City surrounded by his family. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, August 16, 2013 at 10AM at Saint Ann's Catholic Church with Father Michael Udegbunam officiating. Burial will follow in Mitchell County Cemetery.
Louis was born on August 19, 1931 in Loraine, TX to Jesus and Catarina Rivera. He was a Sergeant in the US Army and served in the Korean conflict. Louis married the love of his life, Sagie Gonzales, on April 16, 1954 in Colorado City. He was a loving husband and proud father of three daughters and four sons. He was a hardworking man who after 34 years, retired from Texaco. He was a member of Saint Ann's Catholic Church and lifelong resident of Colorado City.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Sagie Rivera; two daughters, Becky and husband Gabriel Ornelas of Colorado City, and Anita and husband David Hoyt of Seguin, TX; four sons, Jesse Rivera and wife Irma of Colorado City, Joe Rivera and wife Debbie of Colorado City, Edward Rivera and wife Cheryl of Magnolia, TX, and Renegade Rivera of Colorado City; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Louis is preceded in death by his daughter, Amanda Rivera; his parents; four brothers, Andrew, Henry, Antonio, and Alfonzo; and two sisters, Lupe Lopez and Juanita Franco.
Family visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 from 6PM-8PM with rosary beginning at 7PM and on Thursday, August 15, 2013 from 6PM-9PM with rosary beginning at 7:30PM.
