Mrs. Annie Smith Funeral Is Today

Loraine - Funeral for Mrs. Annie J. Smith, 79, who died about 6 a.m. Monday at her home here following a short illness, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Smiley Street Church of Christ.
Burial will be in Loraine Cemetery under direction of Kiker and Son Funeral Home of Colorado City.
Mrs. Smith, a resident of Mitchell County for 59 years, was born January 4, 1883, in Llano County and moved to Mitchell County in 1903. She married D. R. Smith October 25, 1903, in Sweetwater. He died in 1945 and Mrs. Smith moved into Loraine from their farm near here following his death.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. L.C. Caswell of Seagraves, Mrs. Loal T. Brown of Odessa and Mrs. B. B. Lee of Colorado City; four sons, Burl of Abilene, D.R., Jr. of Brownfield, Tom of Stanton and S.I. of Roscoe; two brothers, Frank Jernigan of Santa Fe, New Mexico and Tom Jernigan of Albuquerque, New Mexico; 24 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
