E.
C. (Pummy) Timon, 71, retired ranchman who was born in the old town of San
Patricio and had lived in San Patricio and Nueces counties all his life,
died at his home, 3029 Dempsey Street, at 10 o'clock last night.
He was a member of a family which landed at McGloin's Bluff near Old Ingleside before Texas had gained it's freedom.
His forebearers joined with other Irish colonists to found the town of San Patricio, one of the oldest settlements in South Texas.
Rosary will probably be recited at 8 o'clock tonight. Funeral arrangements, in charge of Maxwell P. Dunne Funeral Home, were incomplete last night.
He is survived by one son, Dudley Timon of Corpus Christi; two brothers, Judge Walter F. Timon of Corpus Christi and Harry Timon of San Patricio; six daughters, Mrs. J. W. Kelly, Mrs. Lindsey Coons, Mrs. A. J. Patterson, Mrs. Frank Harmon and Miss Laura Timon, all of Corpus Christi and Mrs. W. D. O'Brien of Lockhart, two sisters, Mrs. Laura Timon Dolan and Mrs. J. M. Barry of Beeville; and several grandchildren.
