Adams Chapel Cemetery
Home

The Adams Chapel Cemetery is a small public cemetery located in rural Titus County, TX.  From Titus County court house, take West 1st Street (west) 0.5 miles to the intersection of Ferguson Road (Business US 271).  Proceed through the intersection to O’Tyson Street (FM 127) then 4.1miles south on FM 127 to cemetery on right side of highway.  Adams Chapel cemetery took it’s name from the old, defunct Adams Chapel Church.  It first began at the death of Maida Ruth Perkins who was interred September 17, 1932.  Mr. D. A. Perkins (her grandfather) gave the plot of land for a burying place in 1932.  Coordinates: 33o07.019'N  095o01.675'W

There are approximately 60 rectangular shaped concrete markers throughout the cemetery.  Whether these markers are used for plot boundaries or grave markers is unclear.  Two small cement crosses were found in separate locations.  One bore the only name “RHEA” and the other only  “MOSS”.  There are three (3) plain markers with the name “Obrier”.  Two funeral home markers with: O’neil and Artie Perkins.
