Staley Cemetery

Staley Cemetery is one of several in Titus County that must, at this time, be considered lost. According to Lynch Harper in his “Titus County Cemeteries” there once was a standing monument but an accidental tree fall broke it. None of the locals interviewed recalled the cemetery and yet it is set aside in Abstract A-256 the R. M. Hopkins Survey plot 1370. Since no monuments existed in the cemetery, no effort was expended to locate it exactly. There have been no clues as to those buried in the cemetery. The Staley family once owned the land
