

Burton was first married to Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Wade. This union produced one child. It is assumed that Betty died in childbirth or shortly thereafter because she died in December of 1867 and their daughter, Mary Elizabeth "Betty" was born Blew 01 Dec 1867. In the 1870 census, Burton was living with his 3 year old daughter and his parents near Canton, Texas. Elizabeth had died in 1867.
Burton was married to Nancy Jane Rowan and to this union there were 4 known children, Thomas L. 1872, William H.1873, Dona A.1875, and Dora 1880.
Burton was also married to Amanda Swain Walker on 17 October 1906 in VZC. She was born 1870 TX; died before 1910 TX. They had a son Samuel Caesar Blue; born 1908 VZC; died 6 Mar 1934 Jacksonville, TX.

Martins Mill, June 9 -- B. W. Blue died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Edna Logan, in Round Top community May 23 and was laid to rest in Carter graveyard. "Uncle Birt", who had passed the three-score-and-ten milepost, was born in Tennessee in 1843, and came to Texas about the time the Civil War broke out. Serving through the war, he has since lived in Van Zandt. Four sons and four daughters survive him.
