James E. Moore was born November 20,
1833 in Crawford County, Missouri and died March 2, 1899 near
Myrtle Springs, Van Zandt County, Texas.
He was the son of Curtis Moore and Fanny Twitty.

James E. (Elbert?) Moore was born 20 Nov 1833 in Crawford County,
Missouri and died 2 March, 1899 near Myrtle Springs.
He was the son of Curtis Moore and his first wife, Fanny Twitty.
James came to Van Zandt County in 1849 with his uncle James Moore
and his wife Cynthia Hardcastle, from Fannin County, Texas.
He first married Elizabeth Jane Bivens,
In Van Zandt about 1850, the daughter of John George Washington
Bivens and Naomi Hill.
Elizabeth died at the birth of their only child, Elizabeth James
Moore in 1865, who survived.
October 7, 1869, in Canton, he then
married Jane Elvina Josephine "Josie" Faulk, the daughter
of Levi Benjamin Faulk and Savannah Sloan.
James and Josie had 5 children:
Yuba Moore, born 1873
Fenton Moore , born 1875
Nevada M. Moore, born 1876
Carbon Moore, born 1879
Corbin Moore, born 1879
During his lifetime James Moore amassed considerable property
and wealth.
