In the Van Zandt county 1880 census, Julia was living with her husband, Cortutian H. Stewart, who was a farmer, and their two little girls, Frances, age 2 and Mary, age 1. They had lost another daughter in 1878, Mariah, who would have been 3 years old in 1880, and a son, Gussie, who died in 1886. Mariah and Gussie were both just 1 year old when they died. They are buried near Julia. C. H. & Julia had 3 more children after 1880, who lived. A son, William was born in 1883, a daughter, Maybell was born in 1886, and a daughter, Della C. was born in Jan. 1888. Julia died soon after the birth of Della. All of the children attended school and could read & write. Son, William, a farm worker, only attended school 3 years, but could read & write. Julia was born in Texas and both her parents were born in Alabama. Julia was the first wife of C. H. Stewart. He later married twice more, in 1889 and again in 1903, each of the two women had been widows. His second wife, Sallie E., is buried near Julie. By the 1910 census, C. H. and son Charlie were living in the home of his daughter, Frances Stewart Grammer and her husband, W. I., and their children.
