John was born in Texas to Michael Mack "Mike" & Mary Ann Morris Robinett. He was a 2 years old, living in the home of his parents in Van Zandt County, Texas, in 1870, according to the census. In the 1900 census he was living in the home of his brother Dee, and Dee's wife and children. His mother was also living there. In 1920, John was living in the home of his 71 year old mother. In the 1930 census, John, 62, was living in the home of his 83 year old mother in Van Zandt County. He died in 1935, 6 years prior to his mother.
