Martha Whittington was born March 5, 1837 to Welborn and Mary (Goolsby) Whittington in Jefferson County Alabama. She married Allen Reynolds about 1857. They had two sons John Francis born 1859 and Jacob Allen born in 1862 in Tippah County Mississippi.
Allen Reynolds was born in 1832 in North Carolina. He was a Confederate soldier and a member of Co. H., 34th infantry, Mississippi Volunteers. He died as a soldier in 1863 and was buried in Myrtle Hill cemetery Rome, Georgia. Martha and the two sons moved to Ben Wheeler, Van Zandt County, Texas in 1873. She married James A Harrington in 1875. They had one daughter Mary Lou born in 1878. Martha died October 24, 1922 and is buried in the Liberty cemetery located on FM 2339 about 5 miles west of Callender Lake.
