This cemetery is one of the oldest in Van Zandt County and
is said to have not been used since 1900. This writer found no
evidence of any burials since that year. This small cemetery
has been vandalized almost to the point of complete destruction,
however, there is still some evidence of the cemetry. The oldest
identifiable grave is that of Katie Cox, date of birth October
21, 1864 and date of death May 25, 1865. I is said that there
are Confederate soldiers buried in this cemetery. This writer
wishes to thank the Pope family for this information.
