SALLIE E. BARNETT MORGAN STEWART

Born Nov. 21, 1860 -- Died Aug. 25, 1900

In the Van Zandt County 1900 census, Sallie was living with her husband, Cortutian H. Stewart, who was a farmer, their daughter, Pearlie J., born 1891, their son, Charles H. born in 1895, and her 4 step-children, William Stewart, born in 1883, Maybell Stewart, born in 1886, Della C. Stewart, born in 1888 and her step-daughter from a previous marriage, Dona I. Morgan, born in 1881. Sallie's sister, Margarett J. Rhodes also lived in the household. All of the children had attended school and could read & write. Step-son, William, a farm worker, only attended school 3 years, but could read & write. Sallie was born in Texas and both her parents were born in Mississippi. Sallie was married first to William Morgan, in ZVC, July 2, 1885. She was widowed and her second marriage, and also his second, to widower, C. H. Stewart in VZC July 9, 1889. Sallie E., is buried near Julie, the first wife of C. H. Stewart. By 1910. C. H. and son Charlie were living in the home of his daughter, Frances Stewart Grammer and her husband, W. I., and their children.
