

In the Van Zandt County 1870 Census, Samuel G. Parks was living in the home with his mother and his 2 brothers and 2 sisters. His Father was not listed. He was born in Arkansas and his mother, Virginia, was born in Mousouri in 1841. They lived in the house between my great grandmother, Jane Brazile and her children, and the Mike Robinett family. Samuel had 2 sisters, Minerva A., born in 1861 in Ark., & Bell, born in 1865 in Ark.. He had 2 brothers, Charles W. born in 1867 in Mo. and Thomas H. born in 1869 in Mo.. His mother made their living as a weaver. His two brothers, Charles & Thomas, died in the month of Oct. in 1879, eleven days apart. In the 1880 VZC County US census, Virginia, his mother, was living in the same neighborhood, in the home with her daughter & son-in-law, Bell and John McEnturff.
